Conversations with the Sun
We all have a relationship with the sun….the depth and breadth of the relationship is dependent on our choice and commitment.
Between 2011 and 2016 I somehow found myself compelled and committed to some sort of contract with nature that unfolded in a way that governed my life for an intense 4 year period.
My days were bookended with sunrise and sunset…..& not a simple acknowledgement but a 5 hour ritual that developed and revealed itself as I evolved and dropped into it.
One of the many gifts that came from this time was an understanding of 3 of the languages of the sun.
The mandalas in this exhibition are direct interpretations of 2 of the suns languages: pictures and memory.
The 4 radiating ‘Suns’ in this exhibition are representations of the powerhouse that the sun is.
The primary materials in this exhibition are palm inflorescence I collected in and around Byron.
